Missionary New Birth Baptist Church was organized on May 1, 1977, under the leadership of Rev. Climon McCalvin.
In our 43 year history, we've been blessed to have three Pastor's serve this Ecclesiastical body; Rev. Climon McCalvin, Dr. Clay Edmundson, and Rev. Kevin A. Kearney, Sr.
Our first edifice, was located at 4918 Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave., NE, Washington, D.C. 20019. In December 1988, God blessed us to relocate to our current edifice, at 930 49th Street NE, Washington, D.C. 20019, where we've continued to serve the Deanwood Community.

Since calling Pastor Kearney to lead this congregation on July 19, 2009, we've endeavored to become more community focused. We endeavor to host community events at least twice a year when possible. Our doors are always open to receive "God's People" into "His House."

We are conveniently situated between two Metro Station: Minnesota Ave and Deanwood; being about a 10 minute walk from the Deanwood Metro Station.
